Jacqueline McAllister
PT, R.Ac., Certified Transformational Life Coach
Jacqueline was born in Calgary, Alberta. Growing up in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, life was full of athletics, outdoor adventure and the arts – particularly classical piano. Jacqueline spent 5 years on the Junior Canadian Whitewater Kayaking team, with a top placing of 19th in the World Championships. In her off time, Jacqueline enjoys hiking with her labradoodle, Sadie, kayaking, surfing and yoga.
Jacqueline received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta, and prior to that a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Lethbridge. She has completed a Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Acupuncture at Pacific Rim College, Medical Acupuncture through Acupuncture Canada, post-graduate orthopaedic training, a University of Alberta Graduate course in Diagnostic Imaging, Maternity Acupuncture, R2P Concussion Assessment and Treatment, and Vestibular therapy.
Jacqueline is a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and particularly enjoys helping clients through their pregnancy and the post-partum period. Jacqueline has a whole-person, partnered approach, where she works with her clients on their self-identified needs and goals from daily function to high level performance. She has training in pelvic floor assessment and treatment, Labour and Delivery mechanics and support measures, and Pelvic Girdle Pain. Having assisted women throughout pregnancies and the post-partum period Jacqueline is well versed in Pelvic Floor and core re-training including Diastasis Recti (gap in the abdominal muscles), C-section scar management, as well as guiding return to activity.
Studies in medical acupuncture provided a ‘taste sample’ of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Jacqueline was intrigued by the consistent and fast relief acupuncture gave people. This eventually lead to taking a full training in Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture. It has been shown to be helpful for pain, sleep, nausea, stress relief, digestion and so much more. She is currently studying Kiiko Matsumoto’s work, which is amazing for fast results. Drawing from over 15 years of self-development studies and practices in yoga, meditation and mindfulness round out her whole-person, client centred approach.
Jacqueline is particularly interested in finding ways to practice Integrative Health, gleaning the strengths from Western and Eastern medical paradigms, as well as traditional knowledge to create unique approaches to relieve suffering, create more ease, and reconnect with one’s wellness.
